This paper explores the advantages and challenges in engaging the Kurdish diaspora in the development process of the Kurdistan region. The author examines the situation of the Kurdish diaspora in Sweden and explores possibilities to involve it in transnational cooperation with the Kurdish regions in Iraq and Turkey. She also offers comprehensive advice for policymakers in the West.
